"... The book "Numerical Mathematics
- A collection of solved Problems" by G. V. Milovanovic,
M. A. Kovacevic, M. M. Spalevic (Publisher: Faculty of Electronic
Engineering, Nis, 2003, VIII+ 368 pp.) is written in Serbian
and it contains 217 completely solved problems from the field
of Numerical Mathematics. The book is devoted to students
of the Faculty of Electronic Engineering in Nis, where the
complete courses of "Numerical Mathematics" (in
fifth semester for the following majors: Computer Science
and Informatics; and Microelectronics) as well as course:
"Numerical analysis" (in the fifth semester for
majors: Electronics; Industrial Electric Power Engineering;
Telecommunications) and "Mathematical methods" (fifth
semester for major: Automatic Control) are covered.
The book, also, covers all standard courses from the field
of numerical mathematics at other technical faculties and
faculties of science and mathematics where this field is studied,
including postgraduate studies, as well.
The manuscript of this book is divided into 8 chapters. For
some interesting algorithms program realizations are given
in the FORTRAN language.
The first chapter has an introductory character and gives
a short review of the development of numerical mathematics
in the world and in our country, as well as a review of significant
high-quality program packages for solving mathematical problems.
In other chapters the following problems are treated:
Error analysis, Recurrence relations, Summation processes,
Orthogonal polynomials (Chapter 2); General theory of iterative
processes (Chapter 3); Numerical methods in linear algebra
(Chapter 4); Nonlinear equations and systems (Chapter 5);
Interpolation and approximation (Chapter 6); Numerical differentiation
and numerical integration (Chapter 7); Numerical treatment
of differentiation equations (Chapter 8). ..." |
